Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a form of treatment that involves a trained mental health professional working one-on-one with a client to help them address emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. This type of therapy is designed to help clients develop insight into their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and to provide them with tools and strategies to cope with life's challenges and improve their overall well-being.

At Altus Home Counseling, we offer individual therapy services to help individuals address a wide range of mental health concerns. Our experienced therapists use evidence-based practices and a client-centered approach to help clients achieve their therapy goals.

Our therapists are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic therapy, among others. We work with clients to determine the best therapeutic approach based on their specific needs, preferences, and goals.

We offer individual therapy services for a variety of mental health concerns, including:

  • Anxiety: Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health concerns, affecting millions of people each year. Our therapists work with clients to identify the underlying causes of their anxiety and develop strategies to manage symptoms and improve overall well-being.

  • Depression: Depression can impact every aspect of a person's life, making it difficult to enjoy activities, focus on work, or maintain relationships. Our therapists help clients develop tools and strategies to manage depression and work towards a more positive outlook on life.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): PTSD is a mental health condition that can occur after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Our therapists use evidence-based practices, such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure therapy, to help clients address the symptoms of PTSD and work towards recovery.

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD): OCD is a mental health disorder that causes individuals to have intrusive, repetitive thoughts or behaviors. Our therapists use exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) to help clients manage OCD symptoms and improve their overall well-being.

  • Substance abuse: Substance abuse can have a devastating impact on individuals and their families. Our therapists use evidence-based practices, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help clients overcome addiction and develop long-term recovery plans.
